Uber’s Chief Security Officer Joe Sullivan says the company is “horrified and heartbroken at the senseless violence” and that Uber has contacted police to offer assistance in the investigation.

Kalamazoo County prosecutor Jeffrey Getting said Dalton would likely face one murder count for each of the slain victims and assault charges for two survivors. He declined to elaborate.

A gunman shooting victims seemingly at random terrorized this county in three separate episodes over more than four hours Saturday night, killing six people and critically injuring two others, the police said.

Chief Jeff Hadley of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety later described the man arrested as a “strong suspect”, and told local media that the danger had passed.

“The threat to the public is over”, he said. The station reported that police had assured them that they had apprehended the shooter. Hours later, at around 10:15 p.m., a father and son were shot and killed at Seelye Ford Kia, an auto dealership on Stadium Drive.

Authorities said Dalton could be in court as early as Monday.

The girl was shot at a Cracker Barrel parking lot along with four women who were killed.

At least six people are dead after a series of western MI shootings in which authorities say they believe a gunman chose victims at random.

Tammy George said the woman who was shot outside the apartment building is her next-door neighbor.

Mellen said he got out of the vehicle around 4:40 p.m. and called 911.

A 14-year-old girl who was also shot at the restaurant is in critical condition; it seems that police had initially listed her as a fatality, causing a discrepancy in reports about the attack.

Less than 8 miles away, the third shooting occurred, this time outside a Cracker Barrel restaurant.

Michigan State Police, according to WOOD, identified the dead Cracker Barrel victims as Mary Lou Nye, 63, of Baroda, Michigan; Mary Jo Nye, 60, of Battle Creek, Michigan; Dorothy Brown, 74, of Battle Creek; and Barbara Hawthorne, 68, of Battle Creek.

“I know he liked guns”, Gary Pardo said.

“The loss the community has suffered, the loss that the community will continue to suffer – you can’t begin to put that into words”, Getting said.

“I checked out the back window and saw a auto speeding off”, said James George, 17.
