Rumour has it that Olly’s former co-host Caroline won’t be back too, although this has NOT been officially confirmed yet.

A show source told The Sun: “Caroline’s a really experienced broadcaster but the combination of two presenters just didn’t work out this year”.

The pair were beset by blunders throughout their time as hosts, including one infamous mistake when Olly miscounted the Judge’s votes and told contestant Monica Michaels that she was going home when the judges had in fact taken the elimination vote to deadlock. “But my heart belongs to music and I want to concentrate 100% on making my next album and getting back to performing”.

He added: “Last November I was doing the show and promoting a new single and I felt increasingly like the music side of things had to be shoehorned into the TV schedule”.

The 31-year-old pop star fronted the talent show alongside Caroline Flack – whose position also hangs in the balance – during the last series, but is rumoured to be on the cusp of leaving the coveted role. “He had a good time on the show and got on very well with everyone, but realises his forte is music”.

A spokesperson for the radio DJ said: ‘After careful consideration, Nick has chose to rule himself out as a judge on this year’s X Factor.

According to The Sun, it’s because of “negative feedback” for her co-presenting gig with Olly Murs.

A X Factor spokesperson said: “Details for the new series of The X Factor are still being discussed and will be announced in due course”. He loved working on last year’s series alongside Rita, Cheryl and Simon but it was very much a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The reports come as it emerges the only judges set to return will be Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Rita Ora and main man Simon Cowell.
