Rep says Taylor Swift donates $259k to beleaguered Kesha

Singer Taylor Swift has come out in support of Kesha by donating $250,000 to help her with financial needs. But a beacon of light is still glowing for her as Taylor Swift donates a quarter of a million dollars to help her continue to fight her case. “There are people all over the world who love you Kesha”.

The decision left the Tik Tok singer in tears, while stars such as Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Iggy Azalea have shown support for the 28 year old.

Kesha herself has also expressed gratitude for the moral support – from Lady Gaga and Kelly Clarkson, among many others – she’s gotten in her case against Dr. Luke, a.k.a. Lukasz Gottwald.

Kesha is accusing Dr. Luke of sexual assault during her career with the producer, she also alleging that Sony sided with Dr. Luke after Kesha brought up the incident and is using that as the basis to terminate her music contract.

A rep for Kesha did not immediately return a message seeking comment on Swift’s donation.

On Friday a judge ruled against releasing Kesha – real name Rose Sebert – from her recording contract with Dr. Luke, after she sought an injunction that would allow her to release music outside of his authority.

After tweeting, “Take something to Capitol Hill or actually speak out about something and then I’ll be impressed”, she responded more explicitly to a fan on Instagram. Justice Shirley Komreich stated, “Sony would suffer irreparable harm” and undermine New York’s contracting laws if she was released from her contract.

Dr. Luke insists that the abuse never happened and that Kesha was persuaded by new management to break their exclusive contract by threatening to ruin his reputation.

The judge said granting that request would undermine the state’s laws governing contracts and the court couldn’t do that, and added Kesha’s defence representatives had offered nothing concrete to back up their “speculative” argument.

As reported, Kesha has accused Dr Luke of drugging and raping her a decade ago.

“Standing with @KeshaRose through this traumatic, deeply unfair time”.
