WWE Fastlane 2016 Match Card and Results
The main show begins at 8pm EST/5pm PST. It may not have been the result many WWE fans wanted, but the match was entertaining nonetheless. The main fight will be between Roman Reigns and Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship.

After losing his title thanks to Stephanie McMahon’s Fatal Five-Way match at WWE Raw, Ambrose has all the reason to make a run at a title shot. Maybe The Rock is actually wrestling? This match belonged on Superstars not a pay-per-view.
Stay tuned for latest WWE news 2016. Here’s hoping the WWE hype machine works out the kinks leading into the biggest event of the year.
The triple threat match for the No. 1 contender’s spot features Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose. In April, Triple H defends against both Dean and Roman.
It all came down to a steel chair and a Spear however, with Reigns pinning Ambrose for the 1-2-3 and winning a championship match with Triple H at Wrestlemania 32. Let’s take it one step further.
Sasha Banks/Becky Lynch def. Naomi/Tamina via double submission. Instead, it should be Dean Ambrose, who lost the title in that very same match and has a rematch clause in his title contract. When in doubt, go with the faces. Capable of putting on great matches and especially talented at making others look good this will be another match that sees Ziggler as fodder for the champion, something that’s become all too common the past year.
There was also an impromptu match between R-Truth and Curtis Axel where Goldust cost Truth the win which will perhaps have an impact on their future tag team union. We wont predict win on this one.
Intercontinental Championship: Kevin Owens (c) def. Dolph Ziggler by pin following the Pop-Up Powerbomb to retain.
Charlotte retains the Divas Championship. The Wyatt Family was upset by the makeshift team of Big Show, Kane and Ryback. That main roster is a killer, so much so that two women, Sasha Banks and Bailey had the best Woman’s match since the Trish Stratus, Lita feud and now they are basically as good a Brie Bella. Toss in Naomi and Becky Lynch and it’s interesting.
Becky Lynch/Sasha Banks vs. Naomi/Tamina.
-AJ Styles beat Chris Jericho to seemingly conclude their series of matches. Still, it felt as if that feud is over now and it’s time for Styles to move on. Now Sasha and Becky have equal claim to Charlotte’s Divas Championship. Styles got the win moments later by forcing Jericho to tap out to the Calf-Crusher.
I guess the first question I have about this match is why? I refer you to a previous article that we posted this past week about the “mid-card curse”. Certainly we aren’t dogging WWE. Styles is a star. 2-out-of-3 falls matches tend to be good, giving both competitors the ability to show off their abilities. I think he continues to come close to victory but it still eludes him. The game of U.S. Title hot potato backfired. ANALYSIS: Attack from The Dudley Boyz to set up a WrestleMania match? Kalisto took the first fall by disqualification when Del Rio plastered him with a chair.
Final thoughts: This was a below-average show, and I’m not even factoring in how terrible the WWE Network feed was throughout the night.
Although these two have faced off pretty much every week since the Royal Rumble, they had their best match yet. It’s common sense. Of course, WWE has a history of not using common sense when it comes to using their best voices (see Jim Ross).
