The Cosby legal team has indicated it hopes to persuade the federal judge to call the deposition off indefinitely – something the attorneys have failed to accomplish in three other attempts so far.

Camille Cosby’s attorneys claimed in their emergency motion Sunday that a USA magistrate judge made a “clearly erroneous” ruling Friday in allowing the deposition to go ahead.
Lawyers for Camille Cosby, who has been married to the entertainer for 52 years, had filed a weekend motion in U.S. District Court in Springfield to spare their client from appearing at the deposition, which will not be public. She cited that her testimony would cause “unnecessary media circus” and threat to her personal security. They cited a MA rule – similar to those exists in most other states – protecting “private conversations” between spouses that occur “during their marriage”.
The extra wrinkle for Camille Cosby is that she isn’t simply a spouse – she also served as Bill Cosby’s business manager.
The deposition is going forward in spite of efforts from Cosby lawyers trying to prevent it from happening. They claim he portrayed them as liars, after they publicly accused him of sexually assaulting them.
Cosby has repeatedly denied wrongdoing, but a Pennsylvania judge early this month rejected Cosby’s request to dismiss the charges. The seven plaintiffs suing Cosby are Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis, and Angela Leslie.
Bill Cosby filed a cross-complaint last December alleging defamation and interference with contracts against these seven women.

Cosby has previously acknowledged that he pursued sex with younger, often-struggling models and actresses; that he obtained quaaludes in the 1970s to give to women he hoped to seduce; and that he had sexual contact with a woman after giving her wine and pills.
