Taylor Swift donates $250K to Kesha amid fight with Dr. Luke

In support of the singer, pop princess Taylor Swift signed over a $250,000 check to her on Sunday, after fellow songstress Demi Lovato called her out for not publicly helping Kesha.

In a court hearing on Friday, a judge denied a request to release Kesha from her contract, which stipulates that she is to record six more albums with her alleged abuser.

Dr Luke’s lawyer, Christine Lepera, on Monday again denied Kesha’s allegations of rape and emotional abuse and accused the singer and her legal team of conducting a “trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation”.

Celebrities including Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Lorde, Fiona Apple, Kelly Clarkson tweeted support for Kesha.

Kesha herself has yet to comment on Swift’s donation.

Dr. Luke said that Kesha had initially denied under oath that he made sexual advances toward her, and posted a Daily News story from 2014 referencing the court documents.

In the suit, Kesha alleges that Dr. Luke – real name Lukasz Gottwald – fed her drugs that knocked her unconscious and raped her.

“I appreciate that you spoke up about the issue, but the fact that it seems (like) you shaded Taylor because she donated money instead of tweeting out about it just isn’t right”, the fan said, tagging Lovato in the comment.

“I didn’t rape Kesha and I have never had sex with her”, one of his posts read. Kesha’s attorney, Mark Geragos, said if that happened, the label wouldn’t promote the record. Dr. Luke then countersued for defamation and breach of contract.

Gottwald added that because he was raised by a “feminist mom” and has a sister and daughter, he couldn’t possibly rape anyone-because we all know that logic is ironclad. It is sad that she wants to turn a contract negotiation in something as awful and wrong.

Music producer Dr. Luke has responded to allegations that he sexually assaulted pop singer Kesha.
