Here’s the thing: There wouldn’t be a Gaga without Bowie-there wouldn’t be a lot of people. Lady Gaga performed quite a few different songs from Bowie’s catalog including “Space Oddity”, “Changes”, “Ziggy Stardust” and “Heroes”.

Why was Taylor Swift crying after her 2016 Grammys performance?

Fans were outraged after a commercial for Intel, starring Gaga preparing for the Grammys, aired moments before the CBS broadcast – prompting many to complain the memorial was “shamefully” being exploited.

Rather, he alluded to the performance with the dictionary definition of “gaga”.

Bowie’s son Duncan Jones later appeared to join in the chorus of critics – he used words like “overexcited or irrational” and “mentally confused” in a Grammy-night tweet – and Rodgers also addressed that.

Lady Gaga recently won a Golden Globe for her role on “American Horror Story”.

“The world loves you David”, she wrote in the caption.

Living up to expectations was something Gaga was somewhat nervous about though, because Bowie, who died last month following a secret battle with cancer, was such a huge inspiration to her both personally and professionally.

The 29-year-old pop superstar was also determined that the tribute – on which Nile, who produced Bowie’s 1982 album “Let’s Dance”, acted as musical director – showed the “evolution of his music”. The musician has always been a fan of David Bowie, even going as far as thanking him in inspiring her first album The Fame, and getting a tattoo of David’s face with a lightning bolt across his face on her torso.
