Shortly before 7 a.m., police said the suspect “is down”.
The shooter is believed to have been a son who shot his parents and sister; a child between 8 and 12 years of age was also shot and remains in critical condition.
Police swarmed a portion of 47th Avenue between Cactus Road and Peoria Avenue after a woman inside the house had called 911 and told the dispatcher that her brother had shot someone.
Initial reports said a family of four may have been shot and that the shooter is still inside of the home.
Dozens of fire units are at the scene.
Police have confirmed that three people were shot.
Crews were working a first-alarm fire at the home as well.

Crump said the suspect would shoot at first responders who were trying to get inside the home to help those injured inside and to put out the flames. An anchor for KNXV-TV said that was to avoid giving away the positions of police around the house. A police officer suffering from smoke inhalation was transported to a hospital for treatment.
