British man changes his name to Bacon Double Cheeseburger

The name change occurred under precisely the circumstances you’re assuming it did: Cheeseburger loves Burger King, and one night he and his friends got drunk and started joking about amusing names.

Yep, you didn’t read the title wrong, Simon Smith has changed his named by deed (the official name register) to Bacon Double Cheeseburger.

Mr. Cheeseburger didn’t adopt the name because he’s a burger-lover – it was more because he’s a slightly too enthusiastic alcohol-lover.

The record number of people changing their names comes with reasons ranging from the odd to the serious.

“My mum was furious but my dad thinks it’s hilarious”.

Mr Double Cheeseburger, from Muswell Hill, north London, who used to be called Simon Smith, told the Sunday People: “A name is the least important part of your personalty – it’s given to you by someone else”.

Others chose to name themselves over popular footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Man Utd star Wayne Rooney.

And some people showed their love for fictional characters – such as Penelope Pitstop and Bruce Wayne – while a married couple became Mr And Mrs Amazing.

She added: “Some people simply don’t like their original name – we’ve changed Cock to Cox and Smellie to Smiley”.

Past year the service, British largest name-changing company, handled more than 60,000 applications alone, and expects even more in 2016.
