Colt Prattes has been cast as lead male Johnny Castle in the upcoming Dirty Dancing remake.

Prattes drew attention for his dance skills (and toned physique) in P!nk’s music video for her hit “Try” (see it below).
You might recognise Colt as the talented dancer from P!nk’s music video for Try – he also joined her for performances at the Grammy Awards, the American Music Awards, and on her Truth About Love tour.
For those of you who have yet to watch the musical classic, Johnny is a sexy working class dance instructor in the Catskill Mountains Resort who meets Baby, a young innocent women vacationing with her affluent parents at the resort. Debra Messing also stars as Marjorie. He made Broadway appearances in West Side Story and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Wayne Blair (The Sapphires) will direct with Andy Blankenbuehler heading up choreography.

Dirty Dancing, which has yet to set a premiere date, will not be live, unlike other recent TV musical productions such as NBC’s The Wiz Live! and Fox’s Grease: Live. Allison Shearmur is producing alongside Eleanor Bergstein, who wrote the script for the original Dirty Dancing, with Adam Anders and Judy Cairo producing.
