Many of us have been following the news of the Kalamazoo, Michigan shooting. She was then shot in the leg and the hip.

Dalton’s house at 7031 Douglas Ave. was searched by sheriff’s deputies and Kalamazoo Public Safety crime lab technicians Sunday after he was arrested in connection with the mass shooting, which killed six and seriously injured two others, including a 14-year-old girl. It is unknown who “Mazie” is or why Dalton was looking for them, however, Carruthers intervened during his exchange with the pre-teen to see if he needed any help.
“He shot her once and she was still running and then he shot her again and she fell”.
Joi Coleman, 12, and her sister Megan were among the children saved by Carruthers. Carruthers was at a park near her apartment in the Richland Township complex with her daughter, niece, and three other children when Dalton, an Uber driver, reportedly motioned her to his vehicle.
AP Dalton, a 45-year-old Uber driver, has admitted to the shooting, though no motive is known. She is expected to survive. He also fatally shot three women in their sixties, Mary Lou Nye, Mary Joe Nye, Barbara Hawthorne, and 74-year-old Dorothy Brown.
He also confirmed Dalton incriminated himself during questioning.
Carruthers later identified Dalton in a lineup. He was arraigned Monday on six counts of murder, two counts of assault with intent to commit murder and eight counts of felony firearm use.

Carruthers’ family released a statement through Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell, thanking everyone for their prayers and well wishes.
