Reid endorses Clinton in Democratic race
In a CNN exclusive report, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has declared that he is endorsing Hillary Clinton for president.

Clinton recently won the Nevada caucuses after suffering a bruising defeat to Sanders in New Hampshire.
“Hillary Clinton has spent decades fighting for middle class Americans and standing up for our nation’s values at home and overseas”, Reid said. “I also think that she’s the woman to be the first president of the United States that’s a female”.
Reid remained neutral in his state’s Democratic caucuses last weekend – which Clinton won handily – but his office confirmed Wednesday that the Silver State lawmaker would support the former secretary of state in the race for the party’s nomination over Vermont Sen.
Reid continued to say that he “admired her courage” when she ran for a Senate seat in NY in 2000. Bernie Sanders 53 percent to 47 percent.
The minority leader called Sanders prior to announcing his endorsement of Clinton.
Reid said Sanders was “so magnanimous, so kind and courteous”, and described it as a “call of friendship”. “I don’t know about that, you know I had some meetings today and I think the race is moving along very quickly so we’ll have to see, we’ll have to see what happens next month”, he said. “When she was the first lady, she started the trend toward doing something about health care”.
According to FiveThirtyEight’s tracking of endorsements, Clinton has over 470 endorsements from representatives, senators and governors, compared to Bernie Sanders’ three.
Clinton and Sanders face off in South Carolina’s primary on Saturday.
