SMITE is a fairly popular free-to-play third-person MOBA that has placed emphasis on Gods and Deities locked into an eternal battle with one another.

The game now has 70 playable gods and other mythic types. The game, which was just announced this morning, will begin a very select closed alpha session today, with a more inclusive closed beta coming next month, in March 2016.

Mierzejewski added, “With over 14 million players worldwide, SMITE continues to grow, and Oceania has been an important piece of the game’s success”. The beta will introduce several new skins for the gods of Smite, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog.

Players can get a beta key by purchasing a Founder’s Pack of in-game unlocks for US$30, or by requesting an invite here. You can unlock more gods by playing or by purchasing them with real cash.

All PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive a “KuKu4” skin for the Mayan snake deity Kulkulkan skin. The founders pack is to be a sort of season pass, which gives you access to all current and future characters, 400 gems, a skin for Ares, and access to the upcoming beta. The PS4 FAQ states that the game will make cross platform play technically possible; however, currently, there are no plans for the said cross platform. Gamers who choose to connect their PS4 and Hi-Rez accounts get Odin’s skin in a second.

Smite is and always will be free to play, with all its game modes and five free gods to explore the different mechanics and understand the game. Purchasing the Founder’s Pack during the beta period also guarantees closed beta access.
