Dermot O’Leary ‘set for dramatic X Factor return’

It was reported last year that 2016 would be the final year for the show but if Simon is planning more recruits then one can only imagine he has more plans for the years to come.

It was recently revealed that Olly Murs has made a decision to quit as the co-host of he X Factor in order to focus on his own music career, following his co-host Caroline Flack out the door, which means that a new host will be needed to replace the outgoing duo.

However, the show will return as usual this year despite the last series suffering from plummeting ratings and The Voice UK also joining the entertainment family at ITV.

But while Grimmy is pleased Dermot is making a comeback, he admits he will be sad to see Olly Murs and Caroline Flack go. O’Leary is said have been told he could “name his price” to return to the series, with a potential three year deal being looked at.

A source added: “Producers have realised you can’t take any risks with the presenter of the show”.

Another insider provided more insight saying, “There is even talk Dermot could be offered the presenting job for the rest of the show’s life when a new deal is signed with ITV”.

He said: “I’ve heard that’s happening”.

The 42-year-old star, who hosted the show for eight years, proved to be hugely popular with its fans, and it’s thought that Simon in particular is desperate to have him back.
