The poll was conducted among 1,200 Hispanic registered voters and has a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points. For reference the total population of Nevada is 2,839,099. They care about everything else people care about. It’s nearly as if last night, reporters and pundits forgot there were conservative Latinos even though the party has argued that the ethnic group is Republican without yet knowing it since the days of Ronald Reagan. And Republicans have had difficulty gaining traction among Latinos in the state this decade. The media noted that Latinos who participated in yesterday’s caucus favored Donald Trump over the other candidates with 45 percent of the vote. Assuming the entrance poll is correct (a very big assumption) and Trump won 44% of Latino Republicans, that means he was supported by about 7% of Latinos in Nevada (44% of 16 = 7.04).
