Cops: High school senior was Ukrainian man, 23, with fake ID
The report makes no mention of Samarin’s social life at the school, why administrators never came into contact with parents of Samarin or if the school had any records of the fake student prior to high school.

A Pennsylvania high school honors student just months from graduation was actually a 23-year-old Ukrainian national using a false identity after his visa expired, police said Thursday.
It makes more sense when you learn that he was a Ukrainian immigrant who lost his visa. He participated in the ROTC and Naval Sea Cadet program at the school.
He was recently one of the youth panelists on a town hall forum to discuss violence, an event that was covered on TV station Local21News.
Harrisburg School District Public Relations Coordinator Kirsten Keys said district officials are cooperating with police.
‘At this time, the investigation is in the hands of the Harrisburg Bureau of Police. It states that Samarin was involved in National Honor Society, was runner up for homecoming king in 2015, and was elected to three terms as a student representative to the Harrisburg School Board. Stephayne McClure-Potts also allegedly helped Samarin obtain a Pennsylvania drivers license under his fake name, Asher Potts.
Harrisburg Police have confirmed they have arrested Artur Samarin, 23.
“I would think there would have to be someone who knew”, Wealand said.
Artur Samarin who went by the name of “Asher Potts” was arrested on Tuesday and charged with false identification.

He told PennLive.com: “I marvelled at his maturity”. “The district will continue to cooperate fully with the police department as they move forward with their investigation”.
