Lotus’ new sports auto is quick, pretty, and lightweight
An automatic transmission with paddle shifters is also available as an option. It’ll also lap Lotus’ Hethel test track in 1min 28secs; three seconds faster than the 400. The already-lightweight coupe dropped 154 pounds, putting it below the magic 3,000-pound mark in Evora 410 form. A Torsen-type limited slip differential (LSD) has also been added to improve traction.

It’s always bad news when Lotus announces a special-edition auto.
The Lotus Evora Sport 410 will be on display in Geneva starting next week alongside the Elise Cup 250, 3-Eleven , and a mysterious model that could turn out to be the Evora 400 Roadster. The weight-loss regime also includes a carbon-fiber roof panel, front access panel, and front splitter. We wanted to make the Evora even better: “lighter, faster and sharper, but our team has exceeded our expectations”, said Lotus chief Jean-Marc Gales. The springs and dampers have been revised plus there’s a 5mm lower ride height, and Lotus claims this means sharper handling and better body control, but no impact on ride comfort.
It takes the latest version of the Evora – the 400 – and sharpens its focus yet more. The setup impacts throttle response, lowers the traction-control threshold and removes understeer recognition. “The result is dynamically excellent and nothing short of superb”.
Inside, you get carbon fibre sports seats wrapped in Alcantara, along with the steering wheel and centre console. Ultra light-weight, 10-spoke forged aluminium wheels, and optional Michelin Cup 2 tyres, complete the car’s dynamic revisions. There’s also a touch-screen with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity, but you don’t get arm rests on the door or storage pockets, nor speakers if an entertainment system is not specified. The North American version of the vehicle will be announced at a later date so some of the specifications may differ. Customers can opt for an optional audio and infotainment system.

Only 150 will be built, according to Lotus, available in all major markets (except the U.S.) in June 2016.
