Kompany tells City not to give up on title dream
Tottenham Hotspur’s first top-flight title challenge in a generation gathered further momentum with a landmark 2-1 win at Manchester City in the English Premier League on Sunday as star Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen scored a late victor on his birthday.

Vincent Kompany is confident his calf problems are a thing of the past and he can now lead Manchester City to the Premier League title.
Pochettino did not want to discuss the controversial penalty given against Raheem Sterling for handball, which allowed Kane to open the scoring, instead praising his players for their composure against a City side now in danger of drifting out of the title race.
Harry Kane converted the penalty to put Spurs ahead before Kelechi Iheanacho equalised for City in the 74th minute.
“We don’t have to look at the next game and say we have to change everything drastically”. “An worldwide referee gives two yellow cards for normal fouls”, he said, adding that the winning goal came after the allotted stoppage time had been played.
“It was the key moment that decided the game”. It hit the back of Sterling, then his elbow. Our goal is to reach the Champions League spots and I think we made a good step. It was decisive for the game.
“We are very unlucky with this referee, we have nothing more to do than to complain about that action”.
Victory saw Spurs regain second place in the league after it had been temporarily claimed by north London rivals Arsenal and move to within two points of leaders Leicester.
But neither side finds itself at the top of the mini-league between the Premier League’s top eight – that honour goes to seventh-placed West Ham. “We have to improve”, he told BBC Sport.
“We are going to continue fighting until the end”.
Yet while Pochettino was keen to play down title talk, he acknowledged the club’s success-starved fans may be seeing it differently.
“We needed to get the three points”, said Pellegrini. It is important for our supporters to believe. “We don’t have a lot of stars – we are a very good team that sticks together and that’s important”. It would be interesting to see how the team shapes up, as the title chase has started to look a bit too hard for Manchester City.

“It is true our supporters can dream”, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said.
