“As you can see we are just from a meeting”.

Former Minister of Special Duties and Chairman of the PDP’s Ministers Forum, Kabiru Turaki, said the meeting took some critical decisions that would save the party from its leadership crisis.

“It has become necessary for all of us to put our house in order in order to wrest power from the current All Progressives Congress (APC) government at all levels in 2019”, Ahamadu said.

“What time we need to do this job will be determined by the leaders and owners of the party when they sit down collectively to discuss. For me, taking over office today, I can not tell you when I am leaving”.

“We have also mandated the National Working Committee to put in motion the processes of ensuring that within three months the national convention of our party is called”.

“We will brief all our members nationwide within the next two weeks of the timetable in this direction”.

On the insistence of former PDP Ministers that Senator Sheriff was not acceptable to them, Governor Mimiko said the position taken by the BOT, NASS Caucus and the NWC was representative of the position of members of the PDP Ministers Forum.

There appears to be a new twist in the crisis rocking the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mimiko added that the organs mandated the national chairman and the NWC to organize the party’s national convention within three months.

The forum also condemned all acts of impunity in the running of the party and called for adherence to the party’s constitution. They said they were going to kill me because I refused to allow them to Islamise northern Nigeria.

“The Forum hereby warns all warring factions to desist from making any further defamatory statement against the person of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff in particular and the party in general”. “In view of the recent development in our party, I want to let you know that all organs of the party, the governors’ forum, National Assembly Caucus, BoT have agreed to stand by our national chairman to ensure that our party moves forward. And I tell you that every governor, NWC member, member of the National Assembly emanate from the state organ of the party”. “The forum considers a threat to one as a threat to all”, it said.

After his appointment as the party’s chairman about a week ago, Nigerians and several party chieftains had lashed at PDP for finally digging their own grave.

“A threat to one is a threat to all”, Chairman of the Forum of the ex- Ministers, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, said yesterday.

“The BoT’s position does not change our decision; we still feel the way we feel”. Visibly annoyed over reports linking him with the terrorist group, Sheriff specifically declared that former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, “would not go scot-free” for allegedly creating the impression to the public that he, Sheriff sponsored Boko Haram.
