Donald Trump might tone down his abrasive approach if he wins the Republican nomination, he said hours after winning the Nevada caucuses, but for now he believes it works well for him.

Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who finished a disappointing third-place in Tuesday night’s Nevada caucuses, is staking the future of his fading campaign to his prospects in his home state, which will vote on “Super Tuesday” next week.

Trump also took one-third (33 percent) of the older vote in SC, with Rubio (25 percent) coming in second. Ted Cruz at 37.3 percent and Donald Trump at 28 percent. Marco Rubio, or they can vote for a “consistent conservative” like himself.

“We will be celebrating for a long time tonight”, Mr Trump told a raucous crowd of supporters at the Treasure Island casino in Las Vegas. Rubio and Cruz both headed for Texas.

But Trump, whose landslide victory in the Nevada caucuses Tuesday night charged his already surging campaign full of even more momentum, showed no signs of fading on Wednesday. Nevada raises more questions about his viability. The election calendar suggests that if Trump’s rivals don’t slow him by mid-March, they may not ever.

At stake when Texans head to the polls on Super Tuesday are a whopping 251 delegates up for the taking. Eight delegates were still left to be allocated.

In a speech to supporters, Cruz, tied for second with Marco Rubio in early results, argued that he is now clearly the only alternative to Trump. John Kasich and Ben Carson were in the single digits.

Nevada’s 30 delegates are awarded proportionally. Absent that, he said, “Which one is going to get out of this field?”

He adds that when Romney asked for his endorsement, “He was so awkward and goofy that we all should have known he could not win! We’re the only ones in the race that can unite the Republican party and grow it”.

In response to complaints that some caucus-goers had seen vote counters wearing Donald Trump t-shirts and hats, the state office Tweeted “It’s not against the rules for volunteers to wear candidate gear”. He repeated his vow to order a Justice Department investigation of the healthcare provider “on day one” of his presidency and took another shot at Trump for saying that Planned Parenthood “does do wonderful things” during a debate in SC earlier this month.
