“I’m really proud to stand with President Obama, and I’m really proud to stand with the progress he’s made”, she said in Kingstree, South Carolina.
Both anti-establishment candidates on either side, Bernie Sanders and Trump, are doing well or winning in their respective parties.
“Here we are talking about children in SC and in America, in the wealthiest country in the world, and you’re asking me to predict how many votes I’m going to get” in upcoming primaries, Sanders said.
Female voters also give a huge edge to Clinton, who is seeking to become the first woman elected to the White House.
“It’s so unfair to the people that have been prosecuted over the years for doing much less than she did”.
African Americans make up a big portion of Democratic voters in SC, a demographic in which Sanders heavily trails Clinton.
“Clinton is still in the lead, but her lead is narrowing”, Sanders said, arguing his campaign is still on the “path to victory”.
A new poll shows a competitive race for Tuesday’s Democratic presidential primary in MA, while NY businessman Donald Trump towers over his opponents in the GOP race.
“You should not have to borrow a dime to pay tuition”, Clinton said. Sanders is scheduled to return to SC on Friday. Hillary Clinton is expected to do very well, and those that are “Bernie or bust” may be disappointed to see their favorite out of the race.
She leads Sanders with seniors everywhere. Reuters also features a daily tracking feature which illustrates that Sanders has led Clinton nationally for a majority of days in February.
Sanders held the news conference to discuss the rise of poverty, which he blamed on welfare reforms Bill Clinton signed into law when he was president.

“We want you to apologize for mass incarceration”, said Ashley Williams at the event in Charleston, South Carolina. “They always say their issues, but actions speak louder than words”, Stevens said. “It’s so important to get young people involved in politics, and I’m more enthused about that and less enthused about criticizing the ways in which they are forming their political opinions”.
