JCPenney to start selling items for a penny
JCPenney will host Penney Days throughout the year.

When coming up with a promotion to get more shoppers in its stores, J.C. Penney didn’t need to look any further than its name. The first Penney Days event will start on February 28 in stores and online. The hope with its new “Get your Penney’s worth” campaign is not just that it will drive foot traffic in its stores, but that it will entice customers into trying new products out. You can get actual stuff for a single penny at clothing retailer JCPenney. There’s no word on how much the shipping charges will be on these one-penny items, so only after the sale is announced will folks be able to see how much money they are really saving on the one-penny items.
Upcoming Penney Days will feature in-store items for one cent with no additional purchase required, while supplies last.
J.C. Penney, now reversing declining sales, considers one of its key demographics to be mothers. But the store’s chief customer and marketing officer Mary Beth West remained mum to NBC on which specific items will be available, hoping to incentivize customers to make regular visits to check out the deal.

“The company plans to sell some of its best basics for a penny, starting with items from its $1 billion Arizona brand”, said retail writer Maria Halkias. Penney will continue to roll out other items for a penny throughout the year.
