Academy Award victor J.K. Simmons will join Mark Wahlberg in “Patriots Day”, a film chronicling the events surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, CBS Films and Lionsgate announced Thursday.

Movie producers from CBS Films reportedly met with residents earlier this month to ask permission, saying filming would be going until midnight some nights, and there would be stimulated gunshots during that time. Patriots’ Day heralds a reunion between the actor and his Lone Survivor director Peter Berg, who shared a statement in light of Simmons’ addition to the cast.

The filming would have required simulated gunshots late at night, and the crew would have started filming in late April. He said Friday producers will choose another location.
