In October, the company said it would expand its signature “Like” button with various reactions. Here’s how to use them.

Facebook claims this feature is a product of a year-long research and development.

Reactions are now available to Facebook users across the world on mobile and desktop.

“Not every moment you want to share is happy”. As a hypothetical example, an advertiser might not want their sponsored post appearing next to a post on someone’s timeline that is getting a large number of “sad” or “angry” clicks. Clicking on the actual buttons just shows you how many people have “liked” or “loved” or “wow-ed” a post.

“The “Reactions” feature comes as a new alternative to the seven-year-old “Like” button, which has been a core part of the social networking site, to enable users to react to others” posts. “People wanted to express empathy and make it comfortable to share a wider range of emotions”.

Among the 5 reactions, love was the most popular reaction during the 24 hour rollout phase. He had said that they did not wish to turn the community on Facebook into one, where people could like or dislike or particular announcement. If the Facebook reactions have reached your country, the new reactions should pop up in a bar above.

Some users had trouble figuring out how to get the new ‘Reaction” buttons – Facebook’s latest feature that allows users to respond to a post with Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, Angry, or the good “ol fashion Like. It also checked how people were commenting on posts using stickers and emoticons as “types of reactions” to determine what it would offer in Reactions.
