Leo’s chubby Russian doppelganger to star in reality TV show
From biopics and historical epics to spy stories and harrowing tales of abduction and abuse, this year’s list of Oscar nominees features a bevy of films based on true stories. And since DiCaprio enjoys enormous popularity in the country (some Russians are making him an Oscar), Burtsev has parlayed his resemblance to The Revenant actor into a local TV show, which is called Romance With DiCaprio.

DiCaprio would go on to win the Golden Globe and be nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Bafta; he was one of the favourites to win the Best Actor gong on the run up to the Oscar ceremony.
Fans have been vocal on social media to have the real Leo and the doppelganger work together.
Matt’s remarks come shortly after another nominee, “The Danish Girl” star Eddie Redmayne, said DiCaprio will “definitely” win the Best Actor Oscar on February 28.
With his first potential Oscar win just around the corner (after countless nominations, no less), we’ve delved deep into the archives for a look back at a younger, fresh-faced DiCaprio and his subsequent evolution into the Leo of present.
That leaves us with Leo.
As the 88th annual Academy Awards loom, so too have the questions surrounding Leonardo DiCaprio and his dogged pursuit of the gold statuette.
By working with auteur directors like Martin Scorcese, Christopher Nolan and now Alejandro González Iñárritu, Leo has proven his worth and made the hard transition from “celebrity” to legitimate actor.
In The Revenant, he’s managed to turn that around by playing a part that demanded a gruelling personal sacrifice.
Fun fact: did you know Eminem won the Oscar for Best Original Song, with “Lose Yourself” from 8 Mile? Asked by the Journal du Dimanche on the occasion of the film’s release in France next Wednesday, the actor recalled that it was not the job for rewards. This is the only Best Supporting Actor nomination of DiCaprio’s career to date.

By linking the struggle of the film to his environmentalism, Leo can establish himself as an even weightier candidate in this Oscars race.
