According to the celebrity news site, The Hero and Infinity hitmaker’s forthcoming gig was inspired by her billionaire boyfriend James Packer, who took the singer to the country back in June.
Carey also performs that night at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
Mariah and James went public last month, with reports saying that they had fallen so badly for one another that they were already making wedding plans.
Packer, in an interview with the Review-Journal, confirmed Carey has agreed to perform in Israel for the first time. Her long-held affection for butterflies is well-documented.
Some of her musical resume has had Jewish links and undertones as well. When she got home, he surprised her with a delivery of 1,000 red roses. Her 2001 film Glitter was a box-office and critical bomb, but her low-profile turn as a social worker in 2009’s Precious was received more positively.
Prior to her concert, Carey showed her Instagram followers that she had the look of love, suggesting that someone special may be backstage with her.
