Ono’s publicist, Elliot Mintz, reported to the New York Daily News that Ono was “doing just fine”. On Twitter, her son Sean Lennon wrote, “Hey guys it was only rumors from press: was NOT a stroke, just dehydration/tired”. “She’s living history. I’m glad she’s OK”.
NEW YORK (AP) Yoko Ono’s son says his mother has been released from a New York City hospital after being treated for flu-like symptoms. The rep said he expected Ono to be released Saturday. Ono did not suffer from a stroke and did not face any life threatening situation, Mintz, who began representing Lennon and Ono in the 1970s, said. The Japanese-born artist continues to reside in the same apartment, which has been listed on the market for $14.5 million this summer. The singer and artist was at her Upper West Side home when the ambulance arrived, according to CBS New York.

Ono and Lennon moved to this apartment overlooking the Central Park in 1973. She was also one of the first artists to evolve Happenings into what has been accepted as Performance art. Her seminal performance art in the early 1960s, experimental films and collaborative music with John Lennon in the 1970s and worldwide one-woman shows and retrospectives during the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s illustrate her varied career. She said of the honor: “I’m excited to get this award”.
