Israeli forces shoot dead three Palestinian assailants
Mohammad al-Qiq, who was detained by Israeli forces in November, is on the 86th day of a hunger strike in a hospital in northern Israel. The assailant, identified as a 20-year-old resident of an east Jerusalem Arab neighborhood, was killed at the scene.

Also on Friday, two Border Police officers and a Palestinian woman standing nearby were injured in a stabbing attack by a Palestinian in Jerusalem, and a Palestinian was shot to death, while allegedly trying to ram a vehicle into Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, near Ramallah.
Six Palestinian were shot and killed on the spot, including four children, from February 9-15, 2016, according to the Protection of Civilian report issued by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
“The terrorist attacked a police team from behind, stabbed and lightly wounded them”.
A spokeswoman for the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem said they received two men in their 20s suffering stab wounds, both of them in stable condition.
The assailants who have been killed have either been shot dead by their victims or security forces as they carried out attacks.
The killing on Thursday comes amid months of heightened tensions between Israelis and Palestinians, which have resulted in frequent bouts of violence.
The other two attacks took place in the West Bank during clashes with soldiers.
Painting a troubling picture of the situation during a quarterly briefing to the 15-nation body, Nickolay Mladenov, Secretary-General’s Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, said that the conflict has now arrived at “a pivotal point”. Israel says young Palestinians are being incited to violence by their leaders and by Islamist groups calling for Israel’s destruction. Palestinian officials say the 33-year-old father of two, employed by Saudi-owned Al-Majd Television, is being hounded for political reasons.
“We hope that the current government will be able to solve the bureaucracy that now points to the termination of the contracts of our 74 Palestinian workers”, Nave said.
The plant closed in October 2015, with more than 500 Palestinians made redundant, the company said.

“I am particularly concerned that some Palestinian factions continue to glorify violence and terror”.
