Visitors Pakistan now lead the five-match ODI series by 2-1 and will be looking to seal the series as they square off against Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI.

In a statement, the Chief Selector Haroon Rashid said that the selection committee has announced the squad after monitoring the performance of Pakistani players appearing in various T20 leagues.

Hafeez helped Shehzad build on the fine start by adding 115 for the second wicket, but Sri Lanka hit back to remove both batsmen in the space of 23 runs. He has so far struck 12 fours and a six, and has maintained a strike-rate of about 100 or more, throughout.

The in-form Hafeez also departed before the job was done, caught-behind by a juggling Dinesh Chandimal off left-arm spinner Milinda Siriwardana – but Pakistan had no more than a minor wobble, and some late hitting from Shoaib Malik (29no) hastened the outcome.

Lahiru Thirimanne (90) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) were the top scorers for Sri Lanka. The two have passed a 100 runs in their partnership, and looked to be strolling to a comfortable, series-clinching, nine-wicket win.

“There was no real penetration in our bowling attack”, he said.

Tailender Lasith Malinga smashed 17 off 13 balls at the end to ensure Sri Lanka crossed the 250-run mark. The match was also intervened due to a crowd trouble, but the play was later resumed.
