Alicia Vikander wins best supporting actress
With her hair center parted and pulled away from her face, Vikander’s golden complexion was glowing, heightened with a swirl of earth-tones eye shadow, and a deft swipe of nude lipstick. Vikander had also won the Screen Actors Guild award for her role. Vikander beat out Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight), Rooney Mara (Carol), Rachel McAdams (Spotlight), and previous Academy Award victor Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs).

The actress thanked Redmayne, calling him the best acting partner.
Vikander is nominated for her performance as Gerda Wegener in The Danish Girl.
The 27-year-old Swedish actress has been tapped as an “It” girl this awards season for her dual critically acclaimed roles (The Danish Girl and Ex Machina) as well as her style on the red carpet.
“I’m at the Oscars – insane!”
She wore a yellow strapless gown by Louis Vuitton that was created to fall in large pleats at the hem.
“I work with a woman called Victoria, and she’s my dear friend and she inspires me a lot, but then when it actually comes down to what I’m wearing, it’s my own decision”, she said.
