Kendrick Lamar continues to push for peace amongst gangs.
Kendrick Lamar has developed a close relationship with Reebok, appearing in three ads for the clothing brand.
With a neutral toned suede upper and gum outsole serving as a base, that point is made well but it’s fully driven home by the words “red” and “blue” on the heel of each sneaker – to signify the Bloods and Crips of course. The “Red” and “Blue” motif is a reference to the gang culture in Compton while the tongue tabs that say “NEUTRAL” speak to a more unifying theme than the red and blue labeling may suggest at first glance. Both colors are also represented on the cover of his “i” single.

There’s no word on a U.S. release yet but Europe should start seeing the collaboration in stores on July 18th for €130 Euro (around $142). Again, Rivera should take note of Lamar’s advocacy for peace in his newest endeavor, rather than incitements to violence. Sneakers were a big part of his childhood, as they are for so many young black men.
