Leo Was Like A Giddy Child Waiting To Get His Oscar Engraved

Then came the moment that we’d all been waiting for – the Best Actor category.
The pals are both up for Academy Awards on Sunday and Winslet, 40, recently told ET that she is rooting for DiCaprio as he seeks his first Oscar in six nominations for his harrowing performance in The Revenant.
Leonardo DiCaprio was the biggest victor at the Oscars, having secured a long-awaited statue – and the Hollywood star was treated as such.
According to Hollywood Life, Leonardo and Tom, two world-class actors, made a beeline for each other on the red carpet. When the groups met, Hardy just couldn’t resist capturing the moment with DiCaprio. He later earned a Best Actor nod for Blood Diamond in 2006.
“Always the bridesmaid, never the bride” comes to mind when we think of Leonardo DiCaprio. And they didn’t disappoint at the Oscars last night.
It’s another high calibre year for movie making and as ever it’s hard to predict which way the Academy will swing when it comes to handing out the gold.
Winslet predicted her pal’s 2016 Oscar win during an interview on the red carpet of the London Critics Circle Film Awards in January, saying she even preferred DiCaprio over her “Steve Jobs” co-star Michael Fassbender. “He’s blessed us w/ years of his storytelling, he deserves this! #1!!” It took his buddy Martin Scorsese decades before finally nabbing a best director Oscar – the sixth time, a win for 2006’s The Departed, was the charm for him.

“I feel excited just to be invited to the party, frankly”, Redmayne said. So she might understand a little about DiCaprio’s situation.
