Now in 2016, it looks like Apple is changing things up yet again, with not one or two but three brand new iPhone models planned for release.

According to Recode, the smaller iPhone, a revamped iPad, and tweaks to the Apple Watch line will be unveiled on 21 March. Now, citing sources, 9to5Mac’s Mark Gurman reports that upcoming compact iPhone will drop “5” from its name and would just be called iPhone SE, where SE stands for special edition.

And of course, it will feature a smaller 4-inch display to satisfy users who haven’t upgraded since Apple increased its screen sizes in 2014 with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Rumours say the handset will launch at an event on March 15th, and go on sale on March 18th.

While the device might not have everything the Apple iPhone 6s has, it is still expected to run on the latest A9 processor and will come with a 12MP rear camera.

The last iPhone having a 4-inch display was the iPhone 5s. Recently, reports have also suggested that there will be a “Hot Pink” or “Bright Pink” version available of the iPhone 5se. He said that the device will look outdated when the iPhone 7 is launched in September.

Apart from expecting a 50 percent discount on the iPhone 5S, Ming Chi-Kuo reportedly claims that the iPhone 5SE will feature a much better camera; 12MP opposed to the 8MP previously reported. That move would make the iPhone SE’s button placement mirror that on the iPhone 6 and 6s. Now, alleged iPhone SE leaked photos have emerged on the Web ahead of its introduction, showing off the phone’s design and the absence of 3D Touch. Keeping that in mind, calling it the iPhone SE makes complete sense and would also make this the first iPhone to launch without a number. Now the signs point to a new 4-inch iPhone from Apple that will offer an alternative to the larger screens found on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

The handset will also come with Touch ID for use with Apple Pay.
