While Uber, Lyft and other ride-booking services may be getting kicked around like a political footballs this week, it hasn’t stopped them from scoring some milestone business points.

Pickups could begin as early as August, but the plan is still subject to final approval from the airport and the city attorney.

Lyft is yet to make a statement about the current issue being linked to them.

An Uber indication is shown on a driver’s auto parked in the vicinity of the San Francisco Intercontinental Airport parking region in San Francisco, Wednesday, July 15, 2015.

The city’s medallion taxis groused Thursday they hadn’t been advised before the rules were issued Wednesday.

The head of the city transport department says ride-sharing apps pay more to the city fund than official taxis do.

(CNN) – Uber is replacing cabs for professionals on the go, as said by a study by a travel and expense firm.

Another ride-hailing service, Lyft, is seeing its market share grow quickly as well, although its portion of the overall market remains small.

Travel and expense management company Certify looked at millions of expense reports and said 31% of ground transportation receipts were from Uber, 24% from taxis, and 45% from rental cars. Uber accounted for 55 per cent of ground transportation receipts compared with taxis at 43 per cent.

That’s a big jump from just the beginning of the year. The market gain is a significant one when compared to the first three months of the year, when during the first quarter Uber Technologies accounted for 46 percent of receipts tracked by Certify while taxis took home 53 percent of them.

According to Uber, their company holds regular meetings with advocates and policy authors so that they can respond to the needs of people with disabilities.

Reuters said Friday that Healey contacted the companies last week to discuss how the company ensured equal access for people with disabilities. While business travelers are quickly migrating towards services such as Uber, it’s good to know that some reservations about safety and liability should be addressed – Uber’s drivers might not be regulated by the government in certain cities, while taxis are all governed by licensing authorities.

Uber’s pricing compared with traditional cabs can vary. Its UberX assistance, usually drivers in Toyota Camrys or Honda Civics, is generally much less expensive, but its large-stop black vehicles and SUVs expense a quality.
