Eight Maoists including five women killed on Chhattisgarh border

HYDERABAD:Eight Maoists were killed in a police encounter near the outskirt of Telangana’s Khammam region and neighboring Chhattisgarh state in the early hours on Tuesday, police said.

A huge cache of weapons and explosives have been recovered from the slain rebels, the official said, adding a massive manhunt has been launched to nab other rebels possibly hiding in the forested areas of the border. Two police personnel have also been injured in the encounter.
