Ted Cruz Makes Campaign Stop in San Antonio
Front runner Donald Trump is in position to take firm control of the US Republican presidential race when 11 states vote, an outcome likely to intensify concerns among party leaders that the brash billionaire has hijacked the party. Vincent Fort, a former Clinton supporter, has endorsed Sanders.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gives a thumbs up during a South Carolina Republican primary night event, Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 in Spartanburg, S.C. Trump is the victor in the South Carolina Republican primary.
Clinton and Sanders’ numbers remain relatively unchanged from last month as she receives 55 percent of Democratic support, while he gets 38 percent.
Trump was seeking to sweep the South, which would be a massive blow for Cruz.
“There have been multiple media reports about Donald’s business dealings with the mob, with the mafia”. Do they pivot from their primary election rivals and point themselves toward a potential general-election matchup? He does a few points better than they do with Democratic voters, but 10 or 12 points worse than they do with Republican voters.
Trump has declined demands to release his tax returns, even as his rivals Cruz and Fla. Sen.
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, another chief rival of Mr. Trump’s, also called on him to ask that the tape be released. Cruz leaving would at least shake up the current map, and Rubio would also have the added benefit of being the sole leading candidate Trump’s opponents could rally around.
Cruz: “You’ve never said that?”
Speaking to reporters Friday in the State House, Baker said he’s not disappointed with Christie’s endorsement of Trump, but “surprised”. “How many times do I have to continue to disavow people?” he said.
NJ Governor Chris Christie faced his first post-Trump endorsement interview this morning, and it was not a pretty sight.
If Republican Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz lands a win in the nominating contest in his home state of Texas on Tuesday, part of the credit will go to support from a small and often overlooked interest group: homeschoolers.
Cruz on Super Tuesday: “Oh, listen, we are very strong in Texas, and we are running neck and neck with Donald in a number of the Super Tuesday states”. Cruz will be the first to face that test, as Florida and OH vote later.
Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson also has vowed to remain in the race, but support for his candidacy has fizzled.
Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz stepped up their personal and policy-based barrage against Trump Sunday, warning that the real estate mogul’s nomination would be catastrophic for the Republican Party in November and beyond. We’re going to beat out the establishment. “A win here means more than a win in a lot of other states”. “It really all depends on whether they can mobilize younger African-American voters to dent Clinton’s support in that demographic”. And so, if you’re in one of the Super Tuesday states, and you share the concerns of so many Americans that these are serious times and Donald Trump is not the right candidate, then I ask you to come together behind our campaign, even if you like other candidates.
It is always hard to evaluate such “what-ifs”, but to see whether Rubio or Cruz could challenge Trump in a head-to-head match-up, we used our latest NBC News|SurveyMonkey Weekly Election Tracking Poll to ask more than 4,200 registered Republican voters who they would vote for in a contest between either Trump and Cruz or Trump and Rubio. “We are not taking anything, and we are not taking anyone, for granted”, Clinton said.

She is favored in most of the 11 states voting in Tuesday’s Democratic contests, but Sanders’s campaign said it has a good shot at winning five of the states, especially ones outside of the southern tier of states where black voters favoring Clinton comprise a large part of the Democratic electorate.
