Town lauds Leonardo DiCaprio’s first Oscar win

Seeing Winslet and DiCaprio on the red carpet together brings fans back to the 1998 Academy Awards, when Titanic took home 11 Oscars out of 14 nominations (Winslet was nominated for Best Actress, but lost to Helen Hunt).

Leonardo DiCaprio was the big victor at the Oscars (finally!) on Sunday night – and he opted to celebrate with those who have been there since day one… his parents!!

The 40 year old actress may have been happier than DiCaprio himself.

She watched on with adoration as DiCaprio reaped the award for his wonderful performance in the film.

If it’s possible, Leo, we think we love you even more for this.

That win is something Winslet has been rooting for all along.

Winslet and DiCaprio’s friendship has history way beyond the 1997 blockbuster Titanic.

And Adele isn’t the only person backing Leonardo to win tonight. They met when he was just 22 and Winslet was just 21. “I was very moved”, he said when interview after the show. We need to support [vapists] around the world…for the billions and billions of underprivileged [vapists] out there… for those [vapists] out there whose voices have been drowned out by [anti-vapists].
