106-year-old says she can ‘die happy’ after meeting Obama
She had two children – her son has since passed, and her daughter is 83 years old – and did domestic work for families in Silver Spring, Md.

And the Obamas seem just as happy to meet her as she is to meet them.
Virginia McLaurin is the Internet’s new favorite person.
She added, “I pray every day of my life … to keep my memories, my mind”.
McLaurin was born in SC in 1909.
But Obama was cool to the idea at a meeting with the governors he hosted at the White House on Monday, noting that painkillers are sometimes the only realistic treatment option for people in rural communities.
The first lady joked with McLaurin, saying “I want to be like you when I grow up”.
“She’s dancing”, the president said with a laugh. “She is looking and feeling good”.
At one point in the meeting, all 3 hold hands as they join in her exuberant celebration dance. Imagine what she’s seen in her lifetime. I remember the first auto model Ford.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: And senior moment! She also got a hug from the First Lady and, unable to contain her excitement, a dance as well.
“I didn’t think I would live to see a Colored President”, she wrote. So what’s the secret to still dancing at 106?
WILLIE GEIST: Coming up, wish granted. For over 20 years, the elderly lady has been a foster grandmother to inner-city youth. “This is Black History Month, and I’m here to represent black history”. “There’s a lot of oil up there, and we’re going to get it safely”.
SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: Alright, now to a video that is bound to put a smile on your face.
BARACK OBAMA: How are you? Because not only is it obvious that Michelle is Black and has been Black, it’s quite a nice image to see in the highest office of the land.
MCLAURIN: It’s an honor, it’s an honor.
OBAMA: Show down now.
Obama voiced praise for Kalamazoo law enforcement and emergency officials for their quick response to the shooting.
Meanwhile, one of Obama’s youngest supporters, was filmed by her grandmother, Caprina Harris, crying about how the country will soon nominate a new president because Obama’s second term is nearly over. “I’m in here. I said thank the Lord I’m in here”.
At 106, Virginia McLaurin has lived through 18 United States presidents, but none like Barack Obama.
GUTHRIE: She is awesome.

The meeting turned McLaurin, who said she’s lived in Washington since the 1930s, into something of an overnight celebrity. As she rushes over, Mr Obama, who appears amused, says, “Slow down now”.
