Eduazy, who is located in Spain, then told Motherboard that the two VPN services he had been using, ZenMate and Betternet, had recently stopped working, but only with Netflix. However, the smartest ones among them switched to paid VPN services with premium features and most users were able to fool the Netflix system that they were streaming the Netflix service from a location they actually are not.
VPNs can trick Netflix into believing a user is in a different country, thus allowing a subscriber to view content that’s otherwise unavailable in a given locale. NordVPN, one of the more popular VPN providers, told us last week that it had a “number of strategies lined up” should the Netflix crackdown become more offensive.
Users of these VPN services aren’t simply giving up, however.

Netflix has been making a concerted effort to tackle the use of proxy services worldwide and warned a year ago that users could have their accounts terminated entirely if they were found to be using them repeatedly. This will surely be a tit-for-tat battle between Netflix and VPN providers/users for some time.
