Forza 6 Apex details have been provided by Microsoft after the Seattle Times pushed the button a bit early today. It will be free-to-play.

The report doesn’t mention exactly how many cars or tracks you get, but you can read the cached version of it here, after it was quickly taken down.

Forza Motorsport 6: Apex has been developed by Turn 10 Studios and can provide resolutions of up to 4K when unleashed by DirectX12. By default, the graphical settings will automatically change on the fly to adjust to your computer’s specs, but you can set them manually if you’re confident about your rig’s setup. By satisfying various objectives, like placing in the top three, performing flawless passes, or turning off certain assists, you’ll earn the majority of the race points you’ll need to earn all three medals.

The one Microsoft franchise that had always been exclusive to just Xbox devices and nothing else had been Forza- since the franchise’s inception in 2005, Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon games have appeared only on Xbox consoles, and nowhere else. It’s unclear exactly what this ongoing support will comprise of, and whether it will be all-new or simply sourced from the Xbox One version of the game.
