Visitation was held at Hylton Memorial Chapel in Woodbridge Tuesday morning and was followed by the funeral service at noon.

Dozens of police officers around the world are posting photos of their first day on duty to honor the Virginia rookie cop who was killed over the weekend during her first shift.

Guindon had been sworn in to serve with Prince William County just a day before the shooting.

Officer Guindon will be buried in her home state of MA. She earned numerous awards until her tenure ended in 2013.

Guindon, a Woodbridge resident who previously lived in Merrimack, New Hampshire, enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

A Virginia police officer shot and killed on her first day on the job will be laid to rest Tuesday. Her field-training officer, David McKeown, 33, and the third officer who accompanied them, Jesse Hempen, 31, received non-life-threatening injuries, USA Today reports. “That’s exactly what she did”, Hudson said. Prince William County’s chief prosecutor Paul Ebert said he would probably pursue a capital murder charge, which may carry the death penalty. The only thing that rivaled her fascination of birds and nature was her love for her furry best friend, her pet pug, Scout. Officer Ashley Guindon was shot and killed Saturday, Feb. 28, 2016, and two of her colleagues were wounded in a confrontation stemming from a call about an argument. Ashley was destined to wear the badge, but her service to her community began long before her days as an officer.
