Bob Dixon announces run for Republican nomination for Missouri sovernor
Charles. “I call on Missouri’s governor to join with the governors of Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana to protect Missouri citizens in uniform from this glaring vulnerability”. He used each phrase four times during his roughly 20-minute speech.

Another Republican is jumping into next year’s race for the Missouri Governor’s office.
“Here in Missouri we believe strongly in the Second Amendment right to bear arms for our citizens”, said Sen. And a governor who will work to bring a divided party, a divided people back together.
“One of the things that great leaders do who can come in from the outside is that we’re not tied down by all the things that have held back the status quo”, said Greitens.
Dixon did not describe specific initiatives he would pursue as governor but did refer to several pieces of legislation he championed as a lawmaker that became laws. He has worked to reform Missouri’s tax code to make it flatter and fairer and he voted for Missouri’s Right to Work legislation.
Dixon says he is focused on improving the economy, ensuring local control in education and protecting “traditional Missouri values”. In her view Dixon is a “practical man with a good heart”, who is willing to listen to opposing view points, she said. His wife and youngest daughter appeared with him during his State Capitol tour stop Monday. His will be a “grassroots” campaign and that traveling the state will help raise his profile with voters outside of southwest Missouri where he is most well known, he said. “Let’s get government out of the way and do all we can to encourage them”. His mother is former state senator Jean Dixon.

Sen. Brown’s district includes the sprawling Army base of Fort Leonard Wood that trains 80,000-90,000 military and civilians each year. Mike Parson, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, former House Speaker Catherine Hanaway, and former House member Randy Asbury. The only announced Democrat is Attorney General Chris Koster.
