Does Kanye West use file-sharing site Pirate Bay?

Yeezy posted a picture of his computer screen on Twitter late Tuesday as he listened to the Sufjan Stevens track “Death With Dignity” on YouTube.

This scenario would be a little less ironic if West hadn’t just signaled his interest in suing The Pirate Bay after it allegedly facilitated the theft of West’s new album, “The Life Of Pablo”, which has been illegally downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.

Kanye hasn’t yet responded to the hundreds of angry tweets that he received last night, but hopefully he’ll soon take to Twitter to explain the incriminating photo.

The website also noted that it is possible that West was looking for a synthesizer software named Serum by Xfer Records. However, that hasn’t stopped the mercurial rapper and producer from using the Pirate Bay to possibly steal someone else’s software. “Can’t afford Serum? D***”, he tweeted, including a close-up version of West’s picture, clearly showing the download tab.

Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmer, is among the artists with equity stakes in Jay Z’s music-streaming service Tidal.

Deadmau5 is the co-founder of Xfer Records, the DJ also called for a Kickstater campaign to raise funds for a legit copy of Serum for West. Serum is priced at $189 for Mac and Windows.

Kanye West probably isn’t happy about all the people who have been pirating his new album.

Many will make the joke that Kanye West is $53 million in debt, but it’s less likely that West was trying to balance his budget with a $190 piece of software and more likely that he just doesn’t care.
