Things to Know About the New Amazon Prime Credit Card
Pierre Bouvard, CMO of Cumulus Media and Westwood One, said: “Advertising put Amazon Prime Day on the map, and radio was the most effective at converting awareness into purchases”. However, the new Prime card makes the process more seamless with an automatic 5% statement credit on all Amazon purchases (not just those eligible for Amazon Prime).

Amazon, of course, thinks the card is a great deal.
And if you are a frequent Amazon shopper, Williams is probably right. The move, which has remained relatively quiet by Amazon’s aggressive marketing standards, seems like a response to the 5% discount card offered by Target. There are also various no-interest financing options available on purchases over certain dollar amounts.
In case anyone is wondering, Amazon Prime is an ever-evolving package of advantages for Prime members that competitors will likely find a bit head-spinning. Plenty of people pay for Prime even without this store card.
As Re/code reported on Wednesday (July 22), the movement to offer the card comes along with continued efforts to bring new consumers to the membership program that rewards loyalty. Here are a few things to know about the new card, as collected from The Consumerist. The eCommerce giant has not conducted a publicity campaign on the card, which has no annual fee.
