Clinton Wins Big In South Carolina
Rubio, wherever you are right now, unlike the U.S. Senate, the president of the United States is not a no-show job. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., takes selfies with the crowd during a campaign rally at the Cox Convention Center Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla., Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016. Eleven states, including six in the South with large minority populations where polls show Clinton with big leads, will vote on Super Tuesday and four more over the next weekend. “I think Hillary would be good because she’s going to look out for us”. “We are not taking anything for granted”. At a campaign victory party in Columbia, supporters broke into raucous cheers as the race was called in her favour.

“Together we can break down all the barriers holding our families and our country back”. “Then and only then can America live up to its full potential, too”.
Clinton reiterated her criticism of the rhetoric of Republican front-runner Donald Trump, particularly toward Muslim Americans.
Amid Clinton’s renewed momentum against Sanders, a US senator from Vermont, donors have also found resolve.
Sanders poured significant resources into the state, including 200 volunteers and almost $2 million in campaign advertising, but effectively conceded the contest earlier this week as polls showed Clinton with an insuperable lead.
That same day, Sanders will rally supporters just outside of the city in Milton.
Several news organizations said Clinton won the primary immediately after polls closed at 7 p.m. EDT.
Last week, a reporter asked the Vermont Senator to predict the margin of his victory on Super Tuesday. “Our grass-roots political revolution is growing state by state and we won’t stop now”. “And tonight I want to pay tribute to five extraordinary women who criss-crossed this state with me and for me”, she said to loud applause.
Clinton picked up most of South Carolina’s 53 delegates, winning 39 to Sanders’ 14.
Hillary Clinton has easily beaten Bernie Sanders in the SC primary, in the latest battle for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination.
In South Carolina, he lost every voter demographic, but his numbers among black voters were especially bleak.
But South Carolina voters appear ready to forgive.
And it is a moment of redemption for the 2008 candidate, whose campaign against Barack Obama eight years ago reached one of its nastiest points before her big loss in SC that year.
“I congratulate Secretary Clinton on her very strong victory”. Clinton assiduously courted black voters, in part by praising Obama and promising to build on his legacy. Mr Sanders was ahead among voters between ages 18 and 29, and among white men. About seven in 10 said that they wanted the next president to continue Obama’s policies, and only about 20 percent wanted a more liberal course of action. Clinton would be held to 55 percent in delegate-rich Texas and Virginia; 57 percent in Arkansas, where her husband was governor and she was first lady; 60 percent in Alabama and Georgia, two states where half the Democratic electorate is black; 55 percent in Tennessee; and 58 percent in American Samoa.
The Bernie Sanders endorsement came as a surprise to many as Reich has close ties with the Clinton family as he previously served as Labor Secretary for former president Bill Clinton.

Turnout in the state was significantly down for Democrats from 2008’s record turnout.
