The exit poll was conducted by Edison Research for The Associated Press and television networks.
The senator captured these “values voters” by overwhelming 30-point margins or more in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas, and he bested Trump in this group in every state in the South.
Results in Agawam, West Springfield, Northampton, Greenfield and several other towns had Sanders ahead of Clinton.
Clinton won women by more than 2:1 ratio.
ABC News reported that the range of voters under 30 is between one and 10 and two in 10 for exit polls. And Rubio led on electability – but only about 1 in 10 GOP voters put a priority on finding a candidate who can win in November.
In nine of the Super Tuesday contests, Sanders has retained strength among voters under 30, garnering 64 percent of their votes overall.
Today, after voting in Burlington, where he once served as mayor, Sanders got a bite to eat with his son and stopped by his headquarters to thank his staff and volunteers. Her lead was much larger among non-white women, but she still carried six in 10 of votes by white women.
In the nine states’ exit polls, between 84 and 95 percent of Republicans said they were “dissatisfied” or “angry” with the federal government. Clinton won 7 in 10 of those votes.
People who are not enrolled in any political party make up more than 53 percent of the registered voters in MA and could vote in either the Democratic or Republican primaries. She won more than 80 percent of their votes. About half of Democratic voters there said they want the next president to change to more liberal policies.
In Texas, about 3 in 10 Democratic primary voters were Hispanic and a little under 2 in 10 were black.
In the state of Virginia, where voting began at 6 am local time, Barbara Kennedy, a 51-year-old freelance writer cast her ballot in Arlington, Virginia.
Almost half of Sanders’ voters said honesty was the most important quality and about a third said they were looking for someone who cares. Clinton led with two-thirds of these voters.
In three other states, black voters accounted for about a quarter of Democratic primary voters. The results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 5 percentage points for Democratic primary voters and plus or minus 7 percentage points for Republican primary voters.
Arkansas voters, regardless of their race, said they trust Clinton more than Sanders on the issue of race relations. He also did well with voters looking for experience.
Democratic voters are not as divided on candidates as Republicans. And while results are still coming in, it’s already clear: It’s a great night for Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

More than half of Republican voters said they would prefer a candidate outside the political establishment to one with political experience. Sanders won in Colorado, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Vermont. About half of independents went for Trump – though he won mainline Republicans as well. And it appeared these independent-minded voters were leaning strongly in the direction of candidates viewed as outside the political mainstream.
