Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney gestures as he speaks at the Republican National Committee Winter Meeting in San Diego, California January 16, 2015.

The former Bay State governor will address the Hinckley Institute of Politics Student Forum at the college on the state of the 2016 presidential race and the choices facing the Republican Party and the country.
Preston said sources also tell him that Romney will be endorsing a candidate for the GOP nomination – the slate of which consists of billionaire businessman Donald Trump, Sens.
Trump endorsed Romney in 2012 but has been deeply critical of Romney’s performance as a candidate since mounting his own run.
He will speak out against Trump, one of the sources said, and will praise Sen.
Romney so far this cycle has restrained himself to Twitter and media appearances, where he has questioned Trump’s support among white supremacists and called for the release of his tax returns. “I suspect that will happen, but it looks like the process will take itself a bit longer to work out”. I think we’re in the same situation with Trump right now. Multiple reports are saying that ain’t happening, so basically we’re left with a speech that will most likely be a meditation on Trump and whether the Republicans want to go down that road in the primary or general election.
Stevens added that he thinks Trump “will get crushed”. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and retired pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson.

Word of Romney’s speech came as the Republican Party wrestled Wednesday with whether to rally behind Trump or pursue a bloody fight to take him down, with no clear alternative to replace him.
