Alvarez and Khan promote bout in London
“We all know that styles make the fights, and the styles of these two fighters make this event a can’t-miss for diehard fans”, said the former six-division world champion. I said let me put in Amir Khan, who is Muslim, and then let me put in Canelo Alvarz the Mexican fighter who is the most popular fighter on the planet today. I just believe you have speed vs. power, because it’s going to be a tremendous fight. “What will win this fight is speed, determination and skill”.

In a media conference featuring both fighters in London on Monday, Khan vowed to prove his doubters wrong and won the praise of Froch, who earned a reputation as a man who consistently took on challenging bouts in his distinguished career.
Khan has only fought at 147 pounds four times in his career.
His greatest attribute is his footwork, but, unfortunately for Khan, it’s also the first thing he abandons when he gets hurt, which is more or less every time he steps into the ring.
“I felt really strong, too big for my weight class, and I’ve been killing myself trying to come down in weight”. He’s had fighters avoid him like Mayweather and Pacquiao. So I’m thinking, is he really this unsafe, devastating puncher that I should be scared of?
The two boxers are slated to meet in Las Vegas on May 7 in Las Vegas, Cinco de Mayo weekend, which will ensure one hell of an opening party at the 20,000 seater T-Mobile Arena, the venue for a fight between the Mexican gunslinger and the British bazooka that has split punters on whether Khan has been courageous in taking what will be a career-defining fight, or has some sort of death wish.

On the other hand, Alvarez, who has a 46-1-1 record with 32 knockout victories, is coming off an impressive unanimous decision victory against Cotto in November in Las Vegas, where he captured the World Boxing Council middleweight title.
