Arsene Wenger not looking to retire

“We only just got in the top four [previously] because we managed to grab every point but you see other teams still strengthening their team and you’re losing your best players, it’s hard to be convinced that you can win the league”.

He is at present the longest serving manager of the league having been appointed by Arsenal in 1996.

“He’d had enough. He goes to every game when he can”.

Quite a few of the Arsenal squad and Arsene Wenger himself have all suggested that the Germany global Mesut Ozil could be the difference between success and failure for the club in the season to come and that success will surely be judged on our finishing position in the Premier League table next May.

Last season Wenger was verbally abused as the Gunners made their way back to London following the ddefeat to Stoke, where his side found themselves 3-0 down inside the first half and ended up with 10-men following Calum Chambers’ dismissal.

“Enthusiasm? That is not a problem, honestly”. It always demands 100 per cent commitment.

But the Arsenal manager has refused to completely give up their policy to promote youngsters from in his team, in order to compete with the likes of Manchester United. Arsenals goal was a well taken shot from Lithuanian trialist Tomas Danilevicius, who went on to make two other appearances that season against Sunderland on the opening day and a 5-3 home win against Charlton the following week. “I have no horses”.

In a fascinating wide-ranging interview given to a number of media outlets, Arsène Wenger this week spoke on a number of topics, including retirement, the ability of the club to challenge for the Premier League title and the club’s philosophy.

“I have big experience and experience helps you anticipate what you will face”.

“These are our values and it is our DNA”. We will try to build on that.

However, Wenger does not plan to retire as he bids to lead Arsenal to their first Premier League title since 2003-04.

Wenger had to contend with the financial impact of moving from Highbury to the Emirates Stadium, which meant losing key players such as Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas year on year. “That, for me, is very very important”.
