The accident reportedly occurred at about 5:10 p.m. Saturday in Cutchogue, New York, when Romeo’s truck hit the limousine, which was carrying eight women returning from touring vineyards.
Said Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota at a press conference Monday afternoon: ‘This was a gathering of young women who were behaving responsibly by hiring a limo for the day enjoying the North Fork.’. “Then they are backing up and continuing on”.
The women killed in the limo crash were all bridesmaids in an upcoming wedding.
Three of the woman died on impact and another died a short time later at Taconic Bay Hospital.
While Romeo continued to recover from his minor injuries at ELIH, officials noted that this was his first arrest for DUI. Romero initially kept walking after a police officer told him to stop, but eventually halted and was administered a field sobriety test, reported local ABC affiliate WABC.
The limousine driver showed no evidence of being influenced by drugs or alcohol at the scene, Spota said, and chemical tests confirmed he was not intoxicated at the time of the accident.
While the investigation is in the ‘preliminary stages, ‘ Spota said they do know that the trip started at 24-year-old Lauren Baruch’s home in Smithtown Saturday morning. Police are now investigating if the driver of the limo failed to yield the right-of-way when he made his turn at the traffic light.
The crash left the limo crippled, with one side of it completely destroyed by the truck, which was rammed up against its right side.
Romeo’s lawyer, Dan O’Brien, offered condolences and said his client had remained at the crash scene.
Mr. Romeo is now being sued for another accident that cost someone their life.
The prosecutor said it was unclear if Romeo’s actions would be defined legally as leaving the scene.
As mentioned by a report via the nypost the sicko conceded having drunk ‘some beer’ prior to getting into his red doge truck and driving it down Route 48 before ramming it in the bridal limousine, nearly slicing it in half.
Two key pieces of information were not yet known, he said: One was Romeo’s speed before the crash.

Romeo was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that struck a limousine, part of a bridal party on the way out of a winery in Long Island’s Cutchogue, on Saturday. He said the limo picked them up at Baruch’s house and took them to LIV, a vodka maker in Baiting Hollow.
